John Krasinski, The Next Captain America.

Latest Buzz on Showbiz.

Source: http://movies.yahoo.com/news/movies.reuters.com

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - John Krasinski as Captain America?
It could happen as Marvel conducts screen tests this week in its search for the actor to play Steve Rogers, the alter ego of the title character in its "Captain America" movie.

The company's latest superhero movie is being directed by Joe Johnston ("Wolfman") and tells the story of the young infirm man rejected from enlisting who becomes America's symbol of liberty during World War II and eventually a member of Marvel's superhero team the Avengers.
About seven actors have moved to the front of the super soldier serum testing line and have either tested or are expected to screen test this week and next at Marvel's Manhattan Beach, Calif., headquarters.

Those known to be on the list with Krasinski include Michael Cassidy (who appeared in "Smallvile" and who tested for the Superman movie when McG was going to direct it), Patrick Flueger (one of the stars of " The 4400 " who most recently appeared in the Tobey Maguire movie " Brothers "), Scott Porter (TV's " Friday Night Lights "), Wilson Bethel (" Generation Kill ") and Mike Vogel (" Cloverfield ").

Chace Crawford is also in talks to screen test, though no deal has been made.
Garret Hedlund, already starring in Disney's "Tron," was also on the list to test but has fallen off, at least for now, because of scheduling conflicts. Insiders say he may still make the testing round. Jensen Ackles is another actor who had scheduling conflicts.

The studio has put the actors on 30-day holds during the testing process.
Sources on both sides caution that an actor may not be found from the tests, which happened during Marvel's search for the man who would be "Thor." For that movie, currently shooting in Manhattan Beach, the studio conducted several rounds of testing but found its star, Chris Hemsworth, late in the game, after initially passing on his audition reel.

While Marvel is looking for someone on the youngish side and who can play rugged, one key ingredient emerging is that the actor be American, according to insiders. So far, no British or Australian actors have been seriously considered though the search could widen if no suitable candidates are found.

Austin, Texas Plane Crashed into IRS Building

Breaking News

Source:Yahoo!News

AUSTIN, Texas – A software engineer furious with the Internal Revenue Service launched a suicide attack on the agency Thursday by crashing his small plane into an office building containing nearly 200 IRS employees, setting off a raging fire that sent workers running for their lives.

At least one person in the building was missing.

The FBI tentatively identified the pilot as Joseph A. Stack, 53. Law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because the investigation was still going on, said that before taking off, Stack apparently set fire to his house and posted a long anti-government screed on the Web. It was dated Thursday and signed "Joe Stack (1956-2010)."

In it, the author cited run-ins he had with the IRS and ranted about the tax agency, government bailouts and corporate America's "thugs and plunderers."

"I have had all I can stand," he wrote, adding: "I choose not to keep looking over my shoulder at `big brother' while he strips my carcass."

The pilot took off in a single-engine Piper Cherokee from an airport in Georgetown, about 30 miles from Austin, without filing a flight plan. He flew low over the Austin skyline before plowing into the side of the hulking, seven-story, black-glass building just before 10 a.m. with a thunderous explosion that instantly stirred memories of Sept. 11.

Flames shot from the building, windows exploded, a huge pillar of black smoke rose over the city, and terrified workers rushed to get out.

The Pentagon scrambled two F-16 fighter jets from Houston to patrol the skies over the burning building before it became clear that it was the act of a lone pilot, and President Barack Obama was briefed.

"It felt like a bomb blew off," said Peggy Walker, an IRS revenue officer who was sitting at her desk. "The ceiling caved in and windows blew in. We got up and ran."

Stack was presumed dead, though police said they had not recovered his body as of Thursday evening. At least 13 people were injured, with two reported in critical condition. About 190 IRS employees work in the building.

Gerry Cullen was eating breakfast at a restaurant across the street when the plane struck the building and "vanished in a fireball."

Woman opens fire at Alabama campus, killing 3

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A woman opened fire in a biology faculty meeting at the University of Alabama's Huntsville campus Friday, killing three people and injuring three others, two of them critically, officials said. The shooter was caught outside the Shelby Center, a science building, without incident, according to university spokesman Ray Garner. He said he could not identify her or the victims. Local media reported the shooter was a faculty member.

No students were involved, Garner said. All three of those killed and two of the injured were faculty members. The third injured person was a staff member.
Huntsville Hospital spokesman Burr Ingram said two of the injured were in critical condition and the third was in stable condition.

Sophomore Erin Johnson told The Huntsville Times a biology faculty meeting was under way when she heard screams coming from the room.
University police secured the building and students were cleared from it.

The Huntsville campus has about 7,500 students in northern Alabama, not far from the Tennessee line. The city is home to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.
The university posted a message on its Web site Friday afternoon telling students the campus was closed Friday night and all students were encouraged to go home. Counselors were available to speak with students.

Garner said at a news conference that the shooting was not unlike one the area experienced a week ago, when a 14-year-old student was killed in a middle school hallway, allegedly by a fellow student.
"This town is unaccustomed to shootings and multiple deaths," he said.

Alexander McQueen found Dead

Breaking News! Alexander Mcqueen is dead.

The Top British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who dressed stars from Sarah Jessica Parker to Rihanna to Nicole Kidman in bold shapes and colors, was found dead in his home here Thursday, a spokesman for his company said.

Though his reputation for controversy earned him the titles "enfant terrible" and "the hooligan of English fashion," British Vogue Editor Alexandra Shulman said his work "influenced a whole generation of designers.

"His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs. At one level he was a master of the fantastic, creating astounding fashions shows that mixed design, technology and performance, and on another he was a modern day genius whose gothic aesthetic was adopted by women the world over. His death is the hugest loss to anyone who knew him and for very many who didn't," said a statement from Shulman on the magazine's Web site.

Asked about reports of McQueen's death, London's Metropolitan Police said a 40-year-old man was found dead at an address in Green Street, central London. They would not confirm his identity and said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

"At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family," said a statement issued from his company on behalf of the family of the designer, who was born Lee Alexander McQueen.

President Bill Clinton Hospitalized

Breaking News!!!

Former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized:

Bill Clinton has two stents placed in heart artery

Article Source:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_bill_clinton

NEW YORK – Former President Bill Clinton had two stents inserted Thursday to prop open a clogged heart artery after being hospitalized with chest pains, an adviser said.

Clinton, 63, "is in good spirits and will continue to focus on the work of his foundation and Haiti's relief and long-term recovery efforts," said adviser Douglas Band.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton left Washington and headed to New York to be with her husband, who underwent the procedure at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Stents are tiny mesh scaffolds used to keep an artery open after it is unclogged in an angioplasty procedure. Doctors thread a tube through a blood vessel in the groin to a blocked artery, inflate a balloon to flatten the clog, and slide the stent into place.

Enceladus Harbors Water

Cassini Evidence Suggests Enceladus Harbors Water

Astronomers say it is likely that Saturn's moon Enceladus hides a large body of liquid water just beneath its icy surface, BBC News reported.
More data returned from the Cassini probe, which periodically sweeps past the little moon, has provided even more evidence backing the idea of a sub-surface sea below the moon’s surface.

Experts theorize that it is the detection of negatively charged water molecules in the atmosphere of Enceladus. Such ions on Earth are often seen where liquid water is in motion, like waterfalls or crashing ocean waves.
Enceladus may not have any "rollers" but it does have a very active region near its south pole where water vapor and ice particles shoot through cracks in the surface and rise high into the moon’s atmosphere.

Andrew Coates from University College London's Mullard Space Science Laboratory said they have seen water molecules that have additional electrons added.
Coates told BBC News there are only two ways they could be added -- from the ambient plasma environment, or from friction as water clusters come out of the jets, like rubbing a balloon and sticking it on the ceiling.
